2008 Heritage Awards
The 2008 Leicestershire and Rutland Renaissance Heritage Awards have now closed. The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Hallaton on Thursday 24 July. The categories for the awards include:
- Best Event
- Best Exhibition
- Inspiration Award for Best Special Project
- Museum of the Year

The 2007 Award winners
The 2007 Leicestershire and Rutland Heritage Awards happened at Sir John Moore Heritage Centre, despite heavy rain and local flooding.
The awards were judged by Mike Jones CC, chairman of the County Council, Cynthia Brown, local historian, and Martin Peters, chief executive of LeicesterShire Promotions, and the judges highlighted the excellence of all the entries and why their job was so difficult.

In each of the awards categories there was a winner and a highly commended. Each winner received a plaque and a cheque for £100 and the highly commended received a certificate.
