The Regional Grant Fund was launched in April 2007 and offers museums in the East Midlands grants of between £250 and £3,000 to support their development plans.
The fund is supported by Renaissance East Midlands and MLA East Midlands and reopened for applications on 1 April 2008.

By January 2008 the Regional Grant Fund had awarded 38 grants totalling more than £91,000. This has enabled an extra £1 million to be levered in from other sources to support projects funded.
The grants haven’t just been made to individual museums, but groups of museums have also been able to bid for grants.
The projects awarded funding are very varied, but all successful grants are supported by a forward plan outlining how the funding will support the museum or museums’ development. Grants have been awarded for projects including: restoration, conservation, collections management, documentation, outreach, access, education/ learning, interpretation and display and much more.
