Learning

Renaissance East Midlands’ aim for learning is to create region-wide services for children and young people to learn through museums. 

This includes a range of actions and programmes.  Consultation with young people, parents and teachers about their learning requirements has helped museums to focus on effectively meeting these needs.  The creation of a team of museum learning posts will ensure that museums are best placed to deliver exciting and inspiring learning experiences. 

Already investment in new projects, web-based learning, loans boxes and teacher resource projects has already helped to connect teachers, schools and museums and realised significant mutual benefits.

The Learning Specialist Panel, led by Leicester Arts and Museums Service, meets regularly to drive forward learning activity across the East Midlands.  It brings together the expertise and insight of Renaissance staff, key stakeholders, representatives from the wider museums community and specialists from outside the sector.
