Museums in the region

There are 240 museums in the East Midlands ranging from small volunteer run museums to small and large local authority museums. There were more than 1.4 million visits to museums in the East Midlands during 2005 - 2006, 90,000 of these were school children and 140,000 people who were new to museums.
